I should have started using a widescreen monitor years ago.

It was nearly 3 years ago I evaluated my own monitor requirements.

I decided then that twin 17” performance TFT monitors with Dual DVI and VGA would be the way to go. It was a great way to go but tied me to a desktop PC.

About a year or so in I swapped to a laptop as my main PC and split the twin monitors, so I ended up working for a couple of years on a single 17” TFT.

I have recently been through a “Technical Refresh” and re-evaluated what I need to keep me productive.

I chose a reasonably priced (£285) 20.1” Single Widescreen Monitor. Within mere moments of connecting up my new monitor I could year a gentle slapping sound. That was my hand against my forehead for not going widescreen year ago.
