Two Weeks with the Dell XPs M1210
I have been using the Dell XPS M1210 for two weeks as my everyday computer.
So from early morning to late night it’s on and working.
To date there is only one issue and that is heat. In the UK we have had a very hot week. The M1210 also kicks out a fair bit of heat.
It’s almost to the point you can’t use it on your lap (due to heat). I have written this off as being the price you pay for performance.
Outside of that issue, it’s the best laptop I’ve ever had. I joke about waiting for winter so the heat thing will be welcome thing.

I just found this post about heat… is the fan noisy as a result of trying to keep it cool?

Yes, push the laptop a bit and it soon heats up then the fan kicks in to keep it cool.
As I said in my other reply the noise is not really a big issue but the heat is.
