I do have to thank DELL for something
And surprisingly its web traffic.
The two most common search engine key phrases that brought visitors to my site in February are “Toolbar EULA” and “Kevin Rollins”.
You can read about the EULA issue here
You can read about Kevin Rollins Resignation here.
Dear Dell
In your honour you now have your own category on my site “DELL” it’s long overdue and you deserve it.
Hey why don’t you send me some equipment to review, something Quad based* would be nice.
*Please
You know you want to.
PS while I have your attention these Dell Express Upgrades for Windows Vista, We will see them soon? You see a pretty wicked Windows Vista backlash is happening, more Vista users might help.
Just an idea. If people dont go for Windows Vista which other platform might they choose? Ill give you a clue, it’s a fruit.

I tried a lot of the ‘advice’ that was out there and the easiest thing I cam up with was this http://toolbareula.blogspot.com/2007/03/toolbar-eula.html
and I am in no way trying to put anyone down…I am not a expert by any means, but I get mad and then its all or nothing till I get it nixed…so any info for the Sonic Solutions DLA that gets blocked? The download on the net after a search only temporarily fixes it, when I restart/reboot it starts all over again.
But for now I can deal with it.

Thanks Tyrone.
Man that sounds like hard work. I will be getting my first Dell Vista Pre-installed PC’s in this week, so your post is very handy.
It’s much simpler to nuke on Windows XP, one tick and uninstall the Dell support Center.

Hey!
Thats why I look for peoples site like yours! To make it easier for me! See, being the Nu-B that I am I was to afraid to do that in case it messed something else up!
I got you listed on my springwidget feed, I also am collecting some traffic just from that new blog (just dealing with that one problem issue) also connecting it to my other sites…using google analytics to check it.
So if you do a search you can actually find a DELL resolve for that Roxio problem I briefly mentioned…because if you get a DELL with Vista (my VISTA is home premium) you will also run into that same problem.
thanks for commenting back!

Hi Tyrone
I just pre-installed a Dell Supplied Business machine and thankfully the Google Toolbar EULA issue is gone along with the Toolbar I might add.
What’s the Roxio problem your having by the way?

Vista will block the driver Sonic Solutions DLA because there are issues with it, but here is a link that will fix it for Dell and Non-Dell customers: http://kb.roxio.com/content/kb/Creator/000131CR
Apparently they say it was a ‘clerical’ glitch? This happens when the computer (with VISTA) also comes with preinstalled Roxio 9 (cd, dvd, burning software).
The messaging will drive you ‘batty’ once the system finds fault with it, it will tell you over and over again.
Wrote a short blurb or two today about it on my toolbar blog. It might make you laugh but I basically ranted on and on about it.

Check out this dude.

Yeah, that dude is CRAZY but i guess in a good way…it explains some for me. THANKS FOR THE LINK.
I do agree with some of his commenters tho’…his video is a bit long!
I like your use of screencasts, I am going to check out your posts on that. Have any problems with me linking (or dropping a link in my blogspot) to some of your Vista and Google help screencasts?
I am benefitting from the traffic keeps going up, (the numbers, can’t seem to make a dime in two months on adsense)
So i thought you might not object to another couple of links to your sight!
Oh yeah, got to spend some time between Worcestershire and Newcastle in 2005…got friends in both areas. The UK was great! (I had a proper pudding while i was there)
They even tried to feed me some Haggis up in Kirkcudbright Scotland. And of course the culinarian/epicurean in me had to try it….
