WebNomad A Positive Purchasing Experience Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

My 30 day trial of Techsmith’s Camtasia Studio 4 (my preferred ScreenCast recorder) had expired and I have lots more ScreenCasts lined up. So it was time to stump up the cash to become a full and legal user of the product.

Techsmith have a number of UK based resellers.

Before looking into the resellers I checked the price from Techsmith Direct.

The price direct from Techsmith was £199

The UK resellers were priced between WebNomad (£152+Vat ) and Grey Matter (£153+VAT)

These prices were correct a time of writing.

So it would be cheaper and easier to purchase from a UK based reseller.

Even although the price between the two resellers was very close I chose WebNomad as Grey Matter has listed the License Key delivery at 4 to 5 Days, which I am sure is an oversight as all they really need to do is e-mail you the license key after you pay.

So WebNomad it was. I dropped them a quick e-mail asking how long the license key would take and received a reply within the hour.

I then placed the order and in due course received the license key.

The key worked in the Beta Version of Camtasia Studio 4.0 I am using on Windows Vista.

So all in all a very efficient transaction.

A quick note about the product I was purchasing (Techsmith’s Camtasia 4.0), I really like it but I just wish it was slightly cheaper. But it’s a great product.
