Image Resizer for Windows Vista

The Windows XP Power Toy Image Resizer was my favorite all time utility. Sadly Image Resizer is not supported in Windows Vista.

This easily let you resize images to a particular resolution.

You can check out my Windows XP Image Resizer Screencast here.

However I live in a Windows Vista world and I need a replacement.

I looked at a couple of 3rd party applications and have decided that Google’s Picasa does what I need and the added image manipulation features are really helpful.

To resize an image in Picasa:-

1) Highlight the image.
2) Choose File > Export Picture to Folder.

Then you will see this box

Change the resolution example: 640, 800, 1024 or whatever you need.

Microsoft: 0
Google: 1

I will do a Picasa Screencast at some point.

Yeah, I just figured these things out about the same time you posted this! hahaha But what I also like is now Picasa will let you embed a slideshow, I like that because I was using slide.com and even though you can do fancy ones, I like the no-nonsense ones from Picasa better…

Plus, in addition to all that I am tired of having my pictures spread out everywhere (like at flickr) then importing to slide to make a slide show, UGH, or uploading to slide for the slideshow but not having the Album uses/accessories.

I use Picasa, Blogger, Gmail, and various other Google software so it is nice to have it all tied together…it may not fit everyones needs but it works nicely for mine.

Thank you for originally recommending gmail to me.
