Remote Desktop Causes Windows Vista to Reboot.
The Problem: You access the Windows Vista PC by IP Address using Remote Desktop Connection client built in to Windows XP and the Windows Vista box then reboots unceremoniously pretty much immediately.
I have had this happen about 3 times out of the last 7 months, but having said that I don’t do a lot of remote desktopping to my Vista Ultimate machine.
If you have had the problem of Remote Desktops causing reboots, let me know.

We are experiencing a similar problem on a w2k3 r2 server…Usually, but not always, the first rdc session of the day causes the server to reboot. Subsequent rdc sessions do not cause the problem. This server exists in an environment of approximately 200 w2k3 similarly-configured servers and this is the only one with the problem.

Hi Sergei
Ouch, downing a server over RDC, bad news.
I never encountered it before so maybe its not Vista specific problem.
let us know if you get to the bottom of it.

I’ve found that connecting with RDC can cause the video failure in the machine being connected to. This has happened in a non badged pc and a Dell machine both running XP (SP2). Lately my machine is acting up also with the monitor blanking out or the machine re-booting when I turn it on first thing. This is XP (SP2) also.
