Microsoft Extends the OEM Availability of XP into 2008 Monday, October 1st, 2007

The train wreck that is Windows Vista continues to unfold.

Microsoft are now allowing OEM’s to extend the supply of the older Windows XP on new PC’s into June 2008.

Windows XP shipped into the world in December 2001 and to-date is the most solid desktop operating system we have.

I admire Jim Allchin the now retired Microsoft executive in charge of Vista. He retired more or less when Vista shipped. Jim was a super smart guy. I think he knew back then what we all know now.

Why only this morning I was greeted by yet another blue screen. What joy it is to be on the bleeding edge.
