Current internal development project: Virtual Net Learning

I like working on innovative projects and Virtual Net Learning is one of these.

Chris (friend, web developer and all round nice chap) and I are developing this together. We have worked together for about 7 or 8 years so we have our communication chops down.

Basically Virtual Net Learning is an Interactive Learning Environment (ILE) for delivering two distinct types of content:

1) Web Video based training courses with interactive elements such as tests/exams and upon completion certification.

2) Web Video based interactive Workshops for delivery over the Internet.

We are throwing all our good unused ideas from the last few years at this project and they are all sticking and making sense.

We may need the help of an additional mysql developer so if you are interested let me know.

I would also like to hear from any one with a couple of moodle projects under their belt. Although I am not entirely convinced moodle is the right way to go yet.

Long time, read your soon to be, if not already a Proud father, Congrats. Have been a proud father for 19 months now, getting a bit more sleep these days though, and young William will be getting all the fun presents this Christmas.

Have been involved quite a bit in php/mysql myself since we last spoke, see http://www.midcheshirerail.org.uk, also see http://www.crewe2manchesterrail.org.uk. Both have the same database behind them, and the data is share in places. It is also managed by an bespoke admin backend which the customer is able to login into and update details such as news.

    Regards

    Hi Ian

No the bun is still firmly in the oven, wont be long now.

We are working on the front end presentation wrapper at the moment, all the sexy user experience stuff.

If you still work at the “old place” there will be a conflict of interest.
