The Benefits of going Multi Monitor
I have spend the last few days with my new Twin Monitor setup (not pictured above).
I now have access to a screen resolution of 3200×2250 split over two displays using Nvidia Dualview. Both displays are connected over DVI.
Each individual display is set to the native resolution of the panel so in my case 1680×1050 (Widescreen) and 1600×1200 (4:3 aspect ratio).
Having both a Widescreen and 4:3 displays allows me to dock content on the most appropriate display.
My productivity as gone through the roof.
Like all power users I have many applications running at the same time. However in my case about 10% of my day is spent in remote computers using Remote Desktop or Terminal Services. I can just drag the remote computer display and dock it to a screen while still having my original desktop and applications still viewable.
In fact it is not uncommon for me to be in control of 3 computers simultaneously, both locally and remotely. Doing that even on a large single display is difficult.
I am not new to a Twin monitor setup through the ages I have gone through twin 15″ TFT’s and then twin 17″ TFT’s but in recent times I have been working on a large single display.
I hasn’t taken long to fall back in love with a multi monitor setup.

Hardware upgrades are like motorways. You start off with 2 lanes, it soon gets saturated. You build a 3rd lane… then a 4th. I’m ready for a 3rd monitor, but where do you go from there? Could turning your head more than 20 degrees be slower and more painful than Alt+Tab?
My solid Ikea computer desk has a shelf just above the monitors and enough room to put a second layer of monitors up there. Not sure if the nVidia driver will support both horizontal and vertical desktop spanning at once? Or if you’re on a budget there’s program for a docked Windows PDA that will extend your desktop onto its tiny screen. Perhaps good enough to display a RSS feed or Task Manager!

Hi Gary
I think your limited to spanning in one direction horizontal or vertical. At least with consumer video cards anyway.
I wished I had gone back to dual sooner.
