Dell ship on most of their PC’s a free time limited version of McAfee Security Center.

I am not fan of having my hardware vendor choose my security software so uninstalling McAfee is one of the first jobs on any new PC.

So the other day I was routinely uninstalling McAfee from a new PC encountered a problem when the PC blue screened and rebooted.

Not an auspicious start, so I checked and McAfee was still half installed, So I tried to remove it from Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. That did not work it failed.

So I looked at the McAfee services running on the PC and their was about 10 of them. So I had to find a solution for cleanly uninstalling this product or reformat the PC and start over.
