Intel Pro Wireless: internal database error occurred when saving/updating the profile Monday, April 14th, 2008
The Problem: It would not allow me to join a wireless network. The error message was “internal database error occurred when saving/updating the profile”.
I encountered this problem on a clients laptop after the motherboard had been replaced.
I tried the repair option for the Intel Pro Wireless Software in the Add/Remove Programs, choosing to remove any profile information left behind but that didn’t work.
So I uninstalled the Intel Pro Wireless Software, for good measure renamed the Intel folder in C:\Program Files to Intel-Old.
I then installed the latest version of the Intel Pro Wireless software in my case from from Dell’s support web site.
That solved it.
