News on the grapevine is that Dell will begin to offer the Dell Latitude E4200 and E4300 from as early as tomorrow September 16th.

The Dell German web site is now up with prices and specifications.

I am most interested in the 12.1 inch E4200. Classed as Dell’s smallest and lightest business laptop.

Dell swapped out my much loved but aged Dell XPS M1210 for a Dell XPS M1530 but it just doesn’t fit what I need in a work laptop.

Don’t get me wrong the Dell XPS M1530 is a fantastic media and entertainment laptop but it’s too bulky for lugging about with its 15.4″ Widescreen.

In the interim period I  have been using a Dell Latitude D630 for work but I want something super light and more up to date design and features wise.

I am going to spring for mobile Internet but might end up with a USB dongle so I can move it between machines.

I think a 6 cell battery is in order but the rest of the spec will have to wait until I can see the full specifications with prices.

I also suspect I will choose XP as OS.
